Dennis was raised in the Philippines where, at age 15, he was caught up in World War II when the Japanese imprisoned him and his family in a POW camp for 3 1/2   years.  Upon being liberated in 1945, he was repatriated to the U.S., where he completed his undergraduate education and attended L.A. city College receiving an AA degree in business.  He subsequently started an import and export company, Eric H. Greene & Co., which was put on hold when he was called up as an Air Force pilot during the Korean War.

Upon his release from service, he attended Woodbury University where he graduated with degrees in Business and Sales Management. He continued to build Eric H. Greene & Co. into a business that operated nationally and internationally.

Julie was born and raised in Glendale,CA. When she was 16, Julie went to Virginia where she attended Stratford Hall and the University of Richmond. Upon returning to California in 1953, she entered Woodbury University where she and Dennis met. They were married in 1954, and worked together to build Dennis' business while raising a family. Julie became active in the import business, serving as its vice-president.

The Greenes have three children: Mark, Linda, and Carole.

Son Mark lives in Jupiter, FL with his wife Peggy and their three daughters, Laura, Stephanie, and Lindsay. Mark and Peggy own two businesses in Florida.

Daughter Linda resides in Orange, CA with her husband Rick Cech. Rick owns a construction business and Linda is owner of Straz Permit Service.

Daughter Carole, her husband Rick Brown and their children Melisa and Marshall, live in Los Alamos, CA. Carol is owner of Alternative Business Services and Rick is Advertising Manager for Hayward Lumber Co.

It seems that all the Greene children are chips off the old entrepeneurial block!

Dennis and Julie sold their import business in 1978, but have since kept busy with real estate and taking care of their dog, Scruffy. They currently reside in Carmel, CA, but take time to travel as much as possible, and have been all over the world. They have attended all of the TJA round-ups since the inception of the association and are strong advocates of preserving the memory of Texas Jack Omohundro.
