Close up of inscription on Smith & Wesson Model 3 1st Model American revolver, inscribed "Texas Jack Cottonwood Spring 1872." This revolver was presented to Jack for his services at Fort McPherson, Nebraska. It is currently in the collection of Mike Harvey, founder and president of Cimarron Firearms. Previously, the gun was in the collection of Herschel Logan, who was inspired by it to research and publish the 1954 biography of Texas Jack, Buckskin & Satin.
