Preserving the Myth ✮ Honoring the Man
The Texas Jack Association exists to keep one of the pivotal figures in the making of the American West from disappearing into the myth he created. That work — the research, the historical markers, the care of his gravesite, The Scout, and the gatherings that bring this history to life — is carried out by its members. Without them, it doesn't happen.
We have been at it since 1980. The Association is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, run entirely by the people who care about this history: descendants of the Omohundro family, historians, and devotees of the frontier and the Wild West stage. It is not a business. Every dollar goes to the mission.
In 2030, we return to Leadville, Colorado — the town where Texas Jack died — to mark one hundred and fifty years since his passing. It will also be the Association's fiftieth year. Both roads end in the same place, and the members who join now are the ones who carry his legacy there. And beyond.

Individual Membership — $50
The Foundation. This is our standard membership level. Your support covers the essential costs of operating the Association and ensures you receive our ti-annual newsletter, The Scout, and stay "on the trail" with our latest research and updates.
Family Membership — $75
This level allows your entire household to be recognized as members of the Association. It’s the perfect way for families to support our mission of passing Western history down to the next generation.
Sustaining Membership — $100
Sustaining members provide the extra "boost" needed for special projects, such as the maintenance of historical markers and the deep-archival research featured in The Scout.
Sustaining Family Membership — $150
Our highest level of annual support. By choosing this tier, you and your family are making a significant investment in the future of the Association, ensuring that the story of "Texas Jack" Omohundro remains a vibrant part of American history.
